This week’s SONG TO CHEW is “Let The Woman In You Come Through”, one of my classic feminist men’s songs from my 1977 Flying Fish album, ASLEEP AT THE HELM. The song is supportive advice from a man to his friend. When it first came out, we got quite a bit of radio airplay because most people had never heard a man sing about how boys and men, struggle to make sense of the very limited gender-specific ways we were expected to act. “We had to choose between acting like Woody Allen or John Wayne, ... and most of us weren’t interested in acting like either one of them!”
